About 3ish years ago my family hosted an exchange student from South Korea for a year. Lets just say it when not so well. So we (Mainly my dad) said we would never host a student again. Since we had hosted we still got the emails from the coordanator about the new students. My parents never really read them. Most of the time they were just deleted. Well last Decemeber my mom accidently opened one and her eye went to the profile of Roxane from Belgium. What stuck out to her we the fact that she has been to an orphanage just like our family. As she read further, she realized she would be a great fit for our family. First my mom came to me and told me about it. (So we would gang up on my dad) We talked about it and we decided to go for it. We were also thinking how if it didn't go well like last time it would only be 5 monthes instead of 9 like last time.

So January 5th our family went to the airport to pick up our new family member. We hit it off right away. Roxane and I got along really well. She picked up on american sarcasm fast from my dad and me. The biggest difference between the 2 of us was that she is what i call a neat freak. and I am what she calls a slob!

Roxane, my mom, and I had a girls weekend in Las Vegas in February. We had a great time! One time when we were in an elavator a lady looks at us and says "You two must be sisters.... you have the same nose!" We started to laugh, not only because we weren't sisters but also because a few days before I set the date for my surgery to fix my crooked nose (Thanks to a softball)

Roxane and I had a thing for watching movies. We both enjoyed the netflix!

We also took her camping! The first night when the smoke came to her she said a sentence and french and we just all looked at her like she was crazy! Then she told us that when she was in scouts and the smoke was in your face that was the sentence you would say. What does that sentence say you must ask? -I hate rabbits! My dad loved it and has been practicing (He still doesn't have it down well)

Roxane left for home on Saturday. :( the day after my nose surgery. It was really hard to say goodbye. Since I had just had surgery it wasn't a good idea for me to go to the airport with the family so i had to say my goodbyes at my aunts house. I couldn't look her in the eyes because I knew if I did i would start crying and that would be really painful in the nose. (But trust me Roxane, I CRIED LIKE A LITTLE SCHOOL GIRL!)

Roxane, Since you have left..... so far every night I have been sleeping in the living room so i can be upright for my nose. Tonight it the first night I am going to sleep in a bed. YOUR BED! because your bed doesn't have a ladder and your flour doesn't have anything on it that I could trip on. The bathroom- Clothes all over. But I would keep it clean for you if you came back!!!

Worship

What does it mean to worship? Lately that has been the question that has been asked to us that are on the worship team at church. The first thing that usually pops into mind is probably singing, or playing an instrument. There is so much more to worship than that. We have talked a lot about how we are not worthy enough to be even able to approach God. I am NOT perfect! I don't deserve to be loved and to worship our Lord. But he lets us!! Then there are the day that I feel like my worship is not authentic. But God doesn't need a perfect Joan. If I was perfect, why would I need a God? A friend was talking about this the other day and he goes "Sometimes I role like a square, some days are like a triangle, or an oval. But some days I role like a circle." A few weeks ago I was leading worship with a few other people and we went off and prayed and we talked about one of the songs we were singing, I will follow. The lyrics are "Where you go I go, Where you stay I stay, Where you move I move. I will follow you." We started talking about how powerful those words were that we were singing and how important it is to mean it when you sing it. Do I really mean what I sing what what we were asking ourselves. Our leader started talking to us about it because she could see how much we work trying to grasp this because we were also saying how there are the days you really don't feel like worshiping. She started talking about how that was a feeling, that we really did mean the words we were singing. Another thing I am learning about worship it is not all about music. You can worship with anything. God has given me the talent and passion for kids. I get to worship when I babysit... Snuggling with a child is worship!!!!! So my question for you is how are you worshipping God in your everyday life.

I am going start this by telling you that footie pajamas are totally awesome and I love them. I wear them to bed almost every night! I got my first pair this year. (well since I was little that is) I thought they would be really hot but they aren't they are perfect! I love it when I am babysitting (Like I am now) and they have footie pajamas! It makes me all happy inside!

This week will be my last week to have no sports going on after school! I am really excited for track to start! I havent been running like I should have been but I have been running more than I had been last year at this time!

We had really weird weather this week.... We had school all day on monday, Tuesday we got out at 1:25 because it was starting to snow and it was REALLY windy. School was cancelled on Wednesday. Had a full day Thursday and today we had no school! Gotta love 2 1/2 day weeks. But now we have to make up a day of school!

We got a foriegn exchange student! Her name is Roxane and she is from Belgium! We totally love her! She is a great addition to our family and fits in well! I am teaching her American sarcasim! She is catching on fast! We are taking a girls get away to Las Vegas at that end of the month! We are really excited!

East Coast here I come... Over spring break while my parents are in Aruba, I am going to the east coast to spend some time with my old babysitter and her family! I am really excited to see them and hangout with them! Oh and dont forget NYC! It will be an awesome way to spend my birthday!

I haven't posted in a long time.... mainly because I have been really busy. Yet I feel like I have nothing to write about. (And I even watched Julie and Julia last night and still don't have any inspiration!!)

For my advanced oral and written communications class we have to do a service project. Me and 2 other guys decided to go to a local elementary school and help out for 30 minutes on Tuesday. It has been a lot of fun! I have been in one of my family's best friend's kindergarten classroom! What a hoot they are!! I mainly have been helping a girl try and focus (Which seems to be impossible!!)

While I do that in the morning, I go back in the afternoon to mentor a 4th grade girl. What I didn't know what that she goes to my church. She definitely needs a good role model. I go for about 40 minutes and just spend time with her. We usually play scrabble which neither of us really know how to play. I connect with people really well of the most part. But to be honest I have been having a hard time. There has been so much junk her life. I have been too busy getting caught up in what I am going to get out of this and not looking at the spiritual guidance she needs. I need to show her God's unconditional love through my actions. I pray that God will open doors. He already has... that God will use me to show her how awesome he is!

This summer I have been babysitting a girl everyday! I have had a blast doing it! Most days that is! Now that I can drive I have been taking her to all her lessons! I also have also been trying to find fun things for us to do to get us out of the house. We have gone to the pool most days! One day I took her to the pubic pool and she had a blast going on the waterslidea over and over and over again! One day we were and toured a 12 story treehouse! That was a lot of fun but it was so stinkin hot! We had a picnic one day, baked some cakes, and yesterday I painted her nails! Today we played tennis for awhile them we went to a place that has a lot of trails that you can explore on! Lauren kept saying that she kept seeing things jump. Of coarse being that she is 8 and a girl she was being all dramatic about it so I just told her that it was probably grasshoppers and kept walking. Then we got out of the shade and I look down and see frogs jumping all around us! Lauren started screaming amd was about to start crying. I wanted to scream but I knew that that wouldn't help. So right then and there we turned around and headed back to my car! What a day! I can't believe I am saying this bit I am getting attached to lol miss lauren! I am going to miss it when school starts!

I am officially tired of winter. Have been for the past oh 2 months or so!!!! We have gotten so much snow this year. the snow is up to our mailbox. (We had to dig it out) We have missed i think is is 5 days of school. Many 2 hour delays and early outs (Which i am ok with). I don't think we have a full week of school since Christmas. We were supposed to get out of school May 27th but we are now to June 4th. At least this year we are not going until June 12th like last year. So spring hurry up and come visit me.... I miss you very much. Winter, not that i don't like your snow, i just wish the temperature could be a little higher than 10 degrees.

I have lived in the midwest most of my life so cold and snowy winters are not new to me. But this year we have gotten a lot of snow. I MEAN A LOT! I love snow and all but Really? do we have to have this much of it and then have it rain and freezing over? This is the first year in a long time that the last day of school was supposed to be out in may. But NO.... we have had 5 snow days so we are once again going to school in June :( Today we got out at 12:25 because of another storm coming in. It is nice to get out early and still have the day count! And what could be better than going home and chatting with 2 of some of the coolest people on facebook?! So if anyone would like to take me somewhere warm they are more than welcome to! Even though it is way too cold outside for my liking I did take some pictures of the trees the other day. They were so pretty! So think of me in June when you are enjoying the warm sun and I am stuck inside a unaircontioned school!

New Year!

It is now a new year! 2009 was great and 2010 will be too! I have had many exciting things happen in the past year. Before school started I told you some goals I had for this school year and I wanted to check back on them today!

My Goals were:
1. Getting up in the morning to do my quiet time with God.-
I have be successful with that. So far I have only missed 2 mornings!

2. To do my best at Cross Country.-
I was successful with that too! I knew that one wouldn't be hard since I have a huge passion for running!

3. To go to bed at a reasonable time-
Some days i am successful at that and other days I totally bomb that one! But for the most part I do a pretty good job. I have 2 people that I will text before I go to sleep and tell them goodnight so they know when I go to bed!

4. To keep my locker clean (at least my half)-
My locker hasn't been too bad. Don't have much in there besides school stuff! The only thing that really annoys me is that we both put our empty gatorade/water bottles on the bottom and that is where I have put my stuff.

5. To TRY and keep a positive attitude towards band (Key word TRY)-
I don't really think i am very successful at that one. :( I really did not enjoy band and I am dropping band at semester! I will be taking foods instead! I have very limited cooking skills so that will be interesting to see how that goes! I am glad I tried band and I have stuck with it this far. I have tried it and now I know it is not for me. I can see how some people like it. It is just not my thing.

My goals this year are all of those (band won't have to worry about much longer and cross country is over). I also want to add to those goals.

1. Keep my room cleaner- I think I say this every year and I don't think i am every very successful but I really want to work on that! I know my parents would agree that I really have a lot of improving I have to do in that department.

2. To branch out and meet new people.- I have so many great friends that I love with all my heart. I am so thankful for them. I have realized that I need to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people and develop friendships.

3. Eat healthier.- I am one of the worst at eating healthy foods. I am not that picky, I just have a really bad habit of eating junk food. Like poptarts! I don't think I need to say anymore!

4. To complain less- I complain about a lot and I just need to stop!

So there you have it! My goals for 2010! Goodbye 2009! Hello 2010!

Lost Wisdom

Today I got my wisdom teeth out. I was really nervous. But luckily it went really well. When I woke up, because of the meds, I started crying and didn't stop until I got home and settled and got the pain killers in my system. The pain killers really helped! They also make me tired so I got to take a nice nap! I am becoming great friends with the lazy boy chair! I am starting to eat some food. I had a little bit of soup when i got home but only had 2 sips since i was still really out of it and couldn't feel my mouth except for pain. My mom did make me drink 2 glasses of milk so i could keep my meds down. I have had some pudding too! but that was mainly all over my face! I am very thankful I am recovering quickly! Thank you for all the prayers! Love you all!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope yours went as well as ours did! I got woken up by Jack at 8:39. I was hoping me make it until but 8:39 isn't bad so I am ok with it. (although he didn't wake me up very nicely by shooting me with is nerf gun but that is another story) We got to open our gifts from each other as just a family which i don't think that has ever happened. Jack and I both ended up giving each other cloths and mom and dad got us both our own laptop! it was really exciting. Then my Grandparents came up with my uncle and we did gifts with them and lunch. It was really nice to spend that time with them. Now we are just enjoying our day watching hallmark movies. This house is way too edicted to hallmark movies! anyway.... I hope very one had a great Christmas!

This weekend we had Christmas on my dad's side of the family. It was loads of fun! (but also exausting) The plan was this....

Saturday

9:00- Go to Jack's lego league competition

9:30- Go to the Y and watch the swim meet
11:00- Go home for lunch and see cousins.

After lunch- Take Liz to walmart so I could give her her present.

Then go to Jack's lego league competition again.

After that just hangout with the cousins and play games.

Sunday

9:00- Church at Grandpa and Grandma's church.

10:00- Brunch (PANCAKES AND BACON!!!!)

After breakfast- Presents

The day didn't go as I had planned but it all worked out of course! My youngest cousin is 11 and was very excited to open presents. So of course she would say something like i think we should open tonight so we can enjoy them and we won't have time after church. So then then she got some of the others on board. They got together and made a petition (Which was really cute) and they would sign and the adults would change it and so on. Long story short, we opened presents Saturday night but the deal was that kids had to do dishes (Luckly paper plates were used!) at dinner and brunch.... I told everyone to not use syrup! So here is what really ended up happening...

Marching Band 2009

This year my mom made me do band. At first she was going to make me do it all 4 years of high school but she told me I only had to do it for 1 year. Of course she said that laying the guilt trip on me. After her realizing that it takes control of all of your life inside and out of school she said I didn't have to do it. We called to get my schedule changed and we couldn't get my schedule changed without losing all the good teachers I have. So I bucked up and stuck with it knowing that i would only have to do it for a year. Now marching band season is over! I am so relieved! I am going to try and drop it for another class at semester! I need to get that taken care of still! I am very proud of myself for sticking with it even though I had no other choice!

My uber crazy life

The past month has been a very busy month for me. I have had little time on the computer and almost no time in front of the TV. (Which i don't think is a bad thing!) I used to think that my life would never get this busy and always thought my mom was wierd when she said it would. How do people do this all year long? Tonight I have Cross country practice, Then band 7-9. Tomorrow I have cross country practice, piano, band 7-9, Wednesday I cross country practice, team dinner, Activate. Thursday I have a cross country meet! Friday I actually have off for once! Yippee! Saturday I have state band compition all day:( While I can't wait it for to slow down some, (which everything slows down in the same week) I love it! I really have been enjoying cross country. Hating band but i won't go into that. My life my my be uber crazy but it's my life!

The Race

There are many things I like about running. I love the feeling of wanting to quit and walk about not walking because you know that at the end you will regret walking. The Christian life is a lot like cross country..... You have parts in your race that are flat. You feel like you are on your safe ground. Then There's the hill. It is hard getting up. You have to find that energy within and you may just want to walk. Then you get to the top and you realize that you are stronger because of that hill and your adrenaline helped. There are different paths you can take. Not everyone has the same path to take. If you look closely, you can see they are always marked so you know what one to take. There are the fans that are cheering you on, yet the crowd that is trying to bring you down. Then you start to see the finish. You get to the finish and get the reward of finishing. The reward is spending the rest of eternity with our heavenly father!

Tomorrow is my first cross country meet of the year. I am a little nervous but not as much as i usually am. We are running on the new course and we aren't liking it as much as our old course but we were also spoiled by having such a nice course before. Today we got our warm up t-shirts and had a spaghetti dinner which was a lot of fun. Next spaghetti dinner is at my house! So tomorrow at 5:00 think about me running up the hills! If you know me you know that i am a huge Steven Curtis Chapman fan. Well on Thursday Steven Curtis Chapman and Jeremy Camp will be at the state fair! Of course i got tickets 2 hours after they went on sale and we could only get seats in the 11th row:( Since I am a freak and must not have anything better to do on a rainny Sunday, I created a fact sheet on Steven Curtis Chapman and Jeremy Camp. I was going to do this yesterday but we went ATVing and then I went to a friend's house. Most of them are really random but hey, I am a very random person!

While I was in Mexico, I got room painted! I think it turned out awesome. All that time the week before pulling off wallpaper has so paid off! My back wall is chalkboard. I plan to get some markers like what they use in cafes to right with. right now I am just using chalk. So you people need to get over and help me deckout my wall!

Is it just me that hates to get rid of pony tail holders even though they are broken or about to break?
Is it just me or does the toothpaste lid always seem to disappear? That also could be Jack!
Is it just me or do a lot of people hate washing their sheets?
Is it just me that hardly ever buys the same kind of body wash 2 times in a row?
Is every one's desk always have lots of junk on it or is that just me?

These are the things that ran through my mind this morning at 7 AM getting ready for summer running. Random I know, but hey.... What else is there to think about at that time of the day!?

today was another great day of riding. we rode half day then at 2 we went into creste butte. last year i bought pj pants and i love them. i wear them all the time. so all i wanted to buy was another pair. i ended up buying 2! we also realized the people that are in the house next to ours is from m'town too. they live here in the summer and said that there had been a lot of bears coming onto their porch and gets into the dumpster at the house we are staying at. there were marks on the dumpster to prove it. that is all for today.

today was another great day of riding. last night was our last night at the mice filled cabins. when we were at the top of the mountian today we got in the middle of a thunderstorm. after we got done riding we headed for the next cabins. the drive was supposed to be only 2 hours but there was an accident with 2 fatalities so we had to take a 40 minute detour. the house we are staying at is so nice. i just came inside from sitting in the hot tub. i even have my own room. my phone died and as i went to go plug it in i realized i left my charger at the hotel in nebraska. i am going to call in the morning and see if they have it but i doubt it. that is all for day 2.

today was the first full day of riding. we got up to 13000+ feet. i cant descibe how beautiful it is. the cabins we are staying at are smaller than my bedroom. one of the other famlies we are with had a mouse in their cabin and it ate some of their clothes. tomorrow is our last day riding in buena vista. then we are going to cresta butte. we also got to play in the snow. i am on my dad's phone right now and when i get pictures uploaded i will post some. have a great 4th of july.

Colorado Bound

Tomorrow we leave for Colorado for 10 days. 4 of the days traveling. Talk about family bonding. I am still packing like crazy and i am convinced that i am a last minute packer for a reason. This year 12 people are going! I am the only girl and the other guys are like my cousins so we always play tricks on eachother. So today we went to walmart (On bike of course:( and bought purple bike horns and I am going to wake up early one morning and put them on thier ATV's! And don't forget the silly string! Summer

Last weekend my parents went ATVing without me so my cousin came to stay with us! We had a lot of fun! We stayed up almost all night watching movies, eating popcorn, and making strawberry smoothies! I had told my neighbor that I could babysit on Saturday before I knew that Liz would be coming so she just came with me and we had a lot of fun going down the slide, playing trackers, and changing diapers. On Sunday we sent Jack to camp!!!!! It is so quiet in the house! My mom and I are going to deep clean his room today! I did mine on Sunday! I also started cross country on Monday. I am so sore! But it is a lot of fun! Anyway.... that is what I have been up to for the 1st 5 days of summer.

I just had to laugh! I was at the pool and I was wearing a white shirt and I didn't have my swimsuit. Naomi and Ruth didn't know me either but for some reason they talked me into getting on their raft and they promised not to tip me over. THEY DID... and I was wearing a white shirt. And for some odd reason Ashtyn just happened to have a swimsuit in my size with her. Why she had a swimsuit in my size with her i do not know.

we started emailing and she asked me to go running after school the day before cross country started. So I go to her house and we start to run/walk. It took us over an hour and we forgot she had a piano lesson. So I caused her to be late for that!

We have seen each other shed a lot of tears. The time Karen got bucked off the horse and she couldn't get in to the stepec's house! She cried all through cc and when we cry it makes the other cry. Then the time when she spent the night at my house for the first time. We watched Fly Wheel then some chick flick. We ended up crying ourselves to sleep over the junk in our lives.

The time when it was before cross country and we were waiting for the others. We were throwing acorns and Ashtyn hit a squirrel with one! Or the time when we changed the words in Fly Away by FFH to drive away!

There are so many funny times together and I look back and I realize that God put her in my life for a reason. I needed a friend like her!

Ashtyn's Suprise

Ashtyn's birthday was on Friday and I surprised her by going to her soccer game and then we got a hotel room and spent the night there. All the hotel had left for rooms was an executive board suites. We walk in and there is this HUGE conference table, a kitchen, 3 tv's, 2 bathrooms... It was awesome because then they weren't on top of me when I got sick in the morning (long story). Then we went shopping and since I lost my purse on Wednesday I had only 40 bucks and I learned that it is really hard getting clothes with only $40. I spent $39 exact! We went home and we did barbie workout! It was really hard! On Sunday we went to Ashtyn's church and there was a life size cardboard Steven Curtis Chapman! Of coarse i made them take my picture with it! It was awesome!

Lego League

Wow, where do I start?! If you don't know, my brother's Lego league time won the state competition and last week we were at the international competition! It was such a neat experience. On Wednesday, I got to leave school early to catch our flight. By 8 we were in Atlanta! Our hotel room was on the 41st floor with an amazing view! The elavator just shot you up so your stomach would take a second to catch up! They ended up in the middle of the pack placement wise, which we think is good considering there were 84 teams and 31 countries. We also went to the Aquariam which wasn't as great as they made is sound. On the last day after closing ceremonies, we went to the Coco-Cola factory. That was our favorite! Today I will do some of the pictures off of my camera (Not the best ones) and tomorrow I will do one of the other cameras.

I hope everyone is having a great Easter! I am really excited because my brother's friend is getting baptized today! I am in charge of video taping it on the Flip because on Friday his dad was moving the pop (Soda) machine and it feel on his foot and he had to have surgery. Now he can't get up for 5-7 days. I haven't blogged in a long time. I have been extremely busy! I have track practice every night and I had my first meet on Tuesday. On Wednesday we leave for Atlanta for my brother's lego league competition! I am really excited. It is going to be a lot of fun and I get to miss 2 1/2 days of school! Since then I have been running almost everyday which will definitely help me with track with starts in less than 2 weeks. This morning I turn my radio on and the conversation/question today was where is the weirdest place you found you cell phone? I got all excited and got my phone out and called in! They answered and I was like, I lost my phone in my locker! They laugh and She was like... I would have lost my phone when I was your ages cuz we had bag phones back then. Since I lost my phone I was dieing without it. I never thought I would get that attached to it! But I did. We have not found my old one and so I took one of my mom's old phones. It OLD! Everything is in a different spot than it was on my old phone. No camera, bluetooth, good songs, ext. But it is better than nothing. Currently I am keeping my eyes on ebay because a used phone at the store is at least $80 and I could get a new one for much less on ebay! Hopefully I will find a phone for a good deal soon!

I for the most part am very responsible. Today on my way to school I was texting on of my friends and like usual, when I got to school I put my phone in my coat pocket. I don't know if I forgot to zip my pocket or what... But within 5 minutes of that I realized it was not there. I had not even taken off my coat. Right away my friend and I start searching the area around us. Not there... I empty out my bag out to see if I might of not thinking about it stuck it in there. NOPE. Another friend calls it. Of coarse, as figured would happen, someone took it and did not turn it in. GREAT... So my friends calls it so we could check to see if was maybe still in there... of coarse if it was in there we would have to really listen for it because it was on vibrate. NOPE. Not there. So I get home. Call my parents... Dad calls to deactivate it. Mom calls to make a pol*ce report. An officer comes to the house to ask us questions about the phone ext. I have had my phone for a month. I know things happen but why when I have only had it a month. Lets just hope someone does the right thing and just turns it in. That was way too much drama for me in one day.

I so meant to do this last night but I was babysitting. Yesterday was Jack's state Lego League competition. They did good but nothing exciting. If you have never been to a state Lego League competition there are 70 teams (with up to 10 kids on a team ), most teams have at least 2 coaches, and all of the kids family.... equals too many people in a small space. We are guessing over 750 people. You can get awards for you robot run. You program the robot to do the missions. You can get a award for your teamwork, and your team presentation. We were in closing ceremony and the team had not gotten any awards at all. This was going to be the first year the team didn't get an award. Then they said and the over all winners is.... @(*#&$(#! Oh my Goodness! They one state! We were shocked! So now the team is going to Atlanta, Georgia for the world competition! We can't wait! Of coarse the one year I stayed home to babysit this happens! I get this text from my dad and all it said was We won. Now Georgia! If you were in the same county as me you would have heard me scream! I think Legos are ok now!

This week has been the most crazy school week I think I have ever had.
Monday- Blizzard was coming so they let out of school at 1:30.
Tuesday- 2 hour late start.
Wednesday- No School because of another blizzard.
Thurdays- No school because it was -30.
Friday- No school because buses won't start.

Now we go to school until June 12th. HELP ME! I think I should open and roll out! What do you think?! 5 days off from school this week. I mean come on, they could have cancelled it on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurdays to spread it out! Oh well. Have a good weekend. I am sorry for being such a bad blogger lately.

I am back from Can Cun and I already miss the beach! It was amazing. We went Parisalling, Snorkeling inside a cave, Did a zip line, and repelled 80 feet! It was so much fun! My brother got stuck in the middle of the zip line and they had to do a rescue to get him! My favorite part was snorkeling inside the cave. It was so beautiful but so cold! Repelling was easy except for getting over the edge! And of coarse I loved sitting on the beach and getting a tan! At the resort there were only about 25% American and the rest were all Europeans so we had to cover my brothers eyes a few times if you know what I mean! While I wish I was still there, it is nice to be home!

Merry Christmas everyone! All of my cousins are in town for Christmas and my cousin was staying over at my house. We had just fallen asleep and all of a sudden my one of my cousin, whom I am sharing my bed with, starts up chucking. It is everywhere. All over my bed which I had just put clean sheets on about 3 hours before, and all over me. It is 4 in the morning and I am going to go wake the whole house up because my room now freaks, i am covered in my cousins dinner, and so is my bed. Great. So at 5 in the morning on Christmas I was in the showering so I don't get the flu in Can Cun! Luckly she is starting to feel better! Christmas memories in the making!

Last night I feel asleep very early. Around 8:00- 8:30 to be exact. I feel asleep right away and I think I had gotten an okay night sleep. But early this morning my stomach started to get a little queasy. Didn't think much about it so I just sat in the bathro*m for the longest time, went and took a shower, and tried to eat breakfast. After I made breakfast it did not look appealing to me at all and according to my mother I looked very pasty. So she made me stay home for the morning. I went back to bed and @ about 10 she called and asked me if I felt like going to school. I told her maybe and started walking around to get myself up. With in 5 minutes I had to go to the bathr*om and then got sick, obviously missing the to*let. I called my mom crying and knowing that she doesn't do pu*k very well. I felt so bad. Lucky the next 2 times I made it to the b*throom! Have a good weekend!

Our Christmas Tree

On Thanksgiving my family put up the Christmas tree. It is 12 feet talk. This is our second year with the Martha Stuart style tree. Last year we put the traditional tree in our basement but we found it was a lot of work for the amount we saw it. So this year we (I) decided to put the Traditional ordaiments going up the stairway. I would say it looks very good! Pictures of that later.

All you hear about on the news is about how the economy is going down hill and it is not good. I know it is not the best it has been in awhile but I am tired of people complaining about it. So we don't has much money as an economy at the moment and maybe you will have to cut back on the Christmas presents this year. I believe that is not the economy that is bad, it is our poor spending choices. We have been spoiled in the past and we don't understand that we already have more than most countries. We are just used to higher standards so when it isn't as good as before we go crazy. I was watching House hunter's the other night and my dad was guessing what house they were going to pick. And of coarse it was the one out of there price range. And his point was that most Americans haven't been good investments. Does anyone feel the way I do about this?

Everytime I go to the store with my grandma I sometimes come up with a reason I need candy. And like most grandmas I am guess, she always for the most part gets it for me. About 2 months ago I went to the store with her over lunch after a doctors appointment and she bought me nerds for my trapper at school. Half of the box I left at home and the rest I put in a baggie and brought them to school. This is all the nerds I have left and it has been almost 2 or 3 months. And I eat them all the time!

For my birthday last year I got a gift card for $20 to the scrapbooking store. So on Saturday I took my mom so we could get supplies for upcoming pages. The first thing I looked at was the digital scrapbooking magazines. There were 4 different kinds. I picked up all for and deciding I really like these two, I look at the price of them and know wonder I liked it so much! one was $20 and the other was $30. So I put them back since I didn't want to spend my gift card on 1 magazine. Instead I got two of the cheaper ones. They are OK but nothing like the other ones. Maybe next time I go I will get one of them. They were so great! They had many good tips.

The title explains it all! I never set retainer on my tray at school. Instead I always set it on my trapper. I hadn't worn it to school lately so I forgot about it and when I picked up my stuff I must of knocked it off and not realized it. I didn't realize it was missing until 10:00 that night when I was trying to find it. Right away i realized what I did and decided to go to bed and worry about finding it tomorrow. So the next day at school I got and see if anyone has turned it in and no one had, they checked w/ the janiter to see if he found it while cleaning, he hadn't. Sigh, so I am a frustarted at myself for doing this but what can I do about it now? So I tell my mom and she was really calm about it considering it was the second time I lost it but the 1st time I did not find it. I have an appointment Monday to get a new one. Now my pocketbook is going to be lighter that is for sure!

As you know, I talk about Mai a lot! I have said this before that talk almost everyday! We have both told each other some things that we went from either Japan or the US. Mai asked me to send her Skittles, Starbursts, Orange Tic Tacs, and Trident Strawberry fusion gum (Which I haven't bought yet, because I can't find it in the stores yet. I am hoping they haven't discontinued it.), I would get another thing to surprise her. I know what she is sending me but I am not going to tell you until I get it! I am so grateful for my friends in Japan. If you don't have friends that are from a different country you don't know what I am talking about... But I encourage you if you have the opportunity to, to make friends from different countries. It is one of the best experience I have ever had.

This morning I had to wake up at 5:30 to give a presentation on our Japan trip to a club of old people and I left my house when it was dark. It was so depressing! I just got back from drum lessons and I am zonked out. Tomorrow I have a half day of school (Thank goodness!) so today felt like a Friday. Tomorrow I start drivers ed at 7 am so I have to leave my house by 6:30. That is until 10 then I am quickly have to dart over to someones house to babysit until 5-5:15ish. After that I am going straight to another family's house to babysit until 10. Sunday then I have church, sunday school, drivers ad, a drama group at church and worshop band practice. Is it just me or is this week going insane? It is now 8:04 PM and I going to QUICKLY hop in the shower and then finally go to bed. I will try to post some things tomorrow since I will have some time. 1. When I was about 10 years old my dad came up to wake me up to tell me that he and my mom were going to go on a run (It was 10:00 by the way) and when he woke me up I sat up and said, " Daddy, look at me, I'm naked." of coarse I was still asleep and I WAS NOT naked!
2. I am a organizer but messy. My room is always a mess but very organized! I have all my favorite underwear in a curtain order in my dresser! TMI!
3. I don't like "brown" sodas except for root beer. But I love sprite!
4. My name was about to be Jordyn. But instead they named me after the person who she lived with in college. I have the person I am named after as a teacher this year. It is really weird! Speciously because it is health class!
5. I am a big perfectionist! Except for keeping my room clean!
6. I have broken five bones.

I fell out of bed when I was 4. My brother was only a month old. That was the first 2 breaks and were the worst ones. That was the left arm!
My babysitters granddaughter was moving in w/ her and it was her first day there. She was on her bike I was was racing her w/ an untied shoelace when I fell and got ran over by the bike. That break was my right arm!
In 4th grade I was on my rollarblades in hit the steps and fell and broke my left arm again. That was # 4.
A month after getting out of that cast, I failed to put my glove up to catch a softball. The other teams coach was a facal dr. so he was a big help! Then they read the cat scan wrong and told me it wasn't out of place even though it was. That was #5.

7. When I went over to Japan I lost my retainer on the flight and had to search through the carts to find it. That can be a long story for another day. Maybe I will get to that tomorrow.

Last night I got about an hour of sleep because I was up all night with the ugly cough. So my mom took me to the doctor and I have a sinus infection and said not to go to school today (which I wasn't planning to do because of lack of sleep) or tomorrow. Great... Sigh... I going to be bored to death! Wasn't much of a problem today because all I did was sleep! Here are 5 more things about me!

4. I have had gum graph surgery.

5. I got my tonsils and adenoids taken out when I was in 3rd grade.

I absolutely LOVE skype. If you don't know what skype is it is a program you can download on to your computer and call people on the internet! The reason I got this in the first place was for church so our youth group can have meetings that way. I thought is was really cool so I told my friend, Mai, who lives in Japan about it and so she downloaded it and we had a coversation! Her computer had a webcam and my computer didn't. So I got to see her but she couldn't see me:( So she told me I better get a webcam. Of coarse by now my mom is right at the computer because this was so cool that I was talking to Mai! So the next day (Today) I went to get a webcam! Now she can see my face! It is awesome talking to you, Mai!

Today is my Dad's birthday. He in now an oldf*rt! Just Joking. I love my dad very much and his is such an inspiration to me. Today is also my grandma's birthday. She died a long battle of cancer a few years ago.

Welcome Home John!

Yesterday was a very busy and exciting day! My friend, Ashtyn, has been in the adoption process for quite some time and they finally got united as a family! Now there are 6 kids in the family and 5 of them are girls! Poor John! I got invited to go pick up her parents and John at the airport. I was of coarse taking pictures! There flight was scheduled to come in around 8 last night but they were going to try to get an earlier flight if they could so they told us to have my mom write me a note saying if there Grandpa calls school that I would have permission to leave. But that was only if they called. So they didn't get an earlier flight so I just went to Cross Country practice after school! My mom must of not put two and two together even though we went over this many many times, but she forgot to pick me up from Cross Country! So I use another kids cell phone since I don't have one to call my mom. She answered and she was eating dinner in another town. She felt so bad and my ride was going to be at my house to pick me up in 15 minutes. So she calls my grandma to come get me and then my grandma took me to Ashtyn's house. I quickly put on some new clothes and some more deo! I was such an honor to be at the airport and join there family for this event! We love you, John! Welcome Home!

Ouch!

I was straighting my hair this morning and when I was going to pick it up after it has been plugged in for a few minutes I oviously wasn't paying much attention to what I was picking it up with. I picked it up on the side that is 450 degrees! I dropped it right away luckly as it then landed in the drawer I had open. So it did not land on my toes. Now I have a blister on both sides of my finger. It did not hurt right away but it did 1 and 2 period at school. Next time I will look where I am putting my fingers when using hot objects!

ways does but as he was leaving he asked me if i wanted his phone for the bus ride home. i thought he was joking so i smartly said of coarse. when i told me that he was serious i was stunned. so of course i desided to blog on the was home. i didn't have a very good run today because i am getting my cough back.
